Printed Ephemera — 1951
Seaside, South Bank exhibition
Souvenir coloured postcard showing the Seaside Pavilion on the South Bank, part of the Festival of Britain of 1951. The view looks west towards the Skylon and Hungerford Bridge. The pavilion was a place for visitors to relax and find out about national seaside customs. It included displays of how sticks of Festival rock were made and a 'What the Butler Saw' peep show. Visitors could sit outside the pavilion on deck chairs and admire the riverside view.
