Card, valentine card
Valentine's card comprising two sheets of embossed lace paper by Meek, with a perforated border and embossed floral corner design. The undersheet has a plain central panel. The top sheet has an open central area filled with a panel of cotton gauze. Applied to the gauze is a cut out paper figure of cupid shooting an arrow and holding aloft a gilded ring. Above is a silver paper dove carrying an envelope and below is a garland of cream satin leaves and coloured paper flowers. This panel is surrounded by an additional lace paper border and below is applied a small paper cartouche with gilded lettering: 'Accept this token of my youthful affection'.
