Card, valentine card
Comic valentine's card, the top sheet printed with a handcoloured caricature portrait of a young soldier. Below is printed an eight line comic verse. Although love was a dominant theme for Valenine's cards, insulting and comic cards were also common. This card, printed by Marks & Sons, is a teasing card. The rhyme concludes with the line 'You're not fit for my Valentine'.
