Card, valentine card

Handfinished valentine's card formed from layers of lace paper placed one on top of the other and attached by folded paper springs to give a 3 dimensional effect. The bottom layer is formed from a lace paper border by Meek embossed with medallions containing flowers, arrows and hearts surrounding an open central area. The middle layer of lace paper is part painted silver and is heavily embossed. The central area of this sheet is also open and below is applied a garland. The top layer of lace paper is part gilded and comprises a top and side border. Loosely inserted into the card is a panel of rice paper handpainted with a design incorporating a lake, mountains and a gazebo.
