Card, valentine card

Valentine's card of cream lace paper with embossed design and applied decoration. In the centre of the paper panel an oval shaped open area is covered with cotton net over which is applied a silver metal foil bowl filled with embossed paper fruit and flowers. This area is framed by a border of embossed and gilded flowers. Also decorated with a garland of white silk leaves, with embossed paper flowers and doves. Handwritten in gold is the message 'How full the cup of bliss must be when love and friendship join Their richest hues and flowers to form the nuptial wreath divine'. Small love messages are also handwritten below the silk leaves. Inside the card an oval wreath has been handpainted in the centre of a plain sheet. When the card is closed this wreath shows through the central net panel.
