Printed Ephemera — 1836-1850
Skelt's Favorites
Uncoloured theatrical souvenir plate engraved with portraits of popular actors and theatrical characters. Originally printed with 5 portraits, one has been cut from the centre of the plate so only four portraits remain representing the actors Mr Dale in the role of Earl Percy, Mr Shepherd as Falconbridge, Mrs Honner as Mary and Mr Johnson as Kailm Azack. Such sheets would have been sold plain as theatrical souvenirs for colouring and tinselling at home.
