Printed Ephemera — 1828-1840
The Unfortunate Sailor
Print with an illustration of a shipwrecked sailor washed up on rocks entitled 'The Unfortunate Sailor'. The sheet is partly handcoloured and there is some small crudely applied tinsel ornamentation. The sailor's trousers have been cut out. Such sheets would have been sold plain for colouring and tinselling at home.
