A copper alloy nummus of the House of Valentinian, the ruling dynasty of the Roman Empire, AD 364-378. The back of the coin depicts the emperor. This coin was possibly minted in Arelate (modern day Arles, France), AD 364-378.
Obv: Diademed bust of the emperor, facing right. Obv inscription: ...S PF AVG. Rev: Emperor, advancing right, dragging a captive with his right hand and holding a labarum (a military standard depicting the Chi-Rho) in the left. Rev inscription: [GL]ORIA [ROMANORVM], OF II in field, ...O... in exergue.
