Mr T.P.Cooke as Tom Tackle
Uncoloured theatrical portrait plate engraved with a portrait of the actor Mr T.P. Cooke in the role of Tom Tackle. Such plates were sold as theatrical souvenirs. Cooke was famous for his portrayals of supernatural villains and naval heroes. Cooke received a great deal of acclaim for his roles in nautical dramas. Cooke was synonymous with sailor roles in nautical dramas, following his success in the play 'Black Eyed Susan'.
