Bowl
Part of a decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 37, with ovolo band, made at Lezoux, Central Gaul, by the potter Cinnamus or one of his associates. Decorated with fresstyle design of animal figures including a boar, a lion and a horse. The sherd has been heavily burnt, turning the red clay black. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
