Paintings, Prints & Drawings — C. 1802
Beauchamp Tower, room in the 2nd Storey
Interior view of Beauchamp Tower, the prison on the second floor of the Tower of London. Produced for antiquarian reasons, this drawing records the location of various famous bits of grafitti (eg Lady Jane Grey) which have since been moved. It was probably produced as a preparatory drawing for the engraving of this subject. That is anonymous and so the attribution to Nash remains unsubstantiated. From the Walter Ison Bequest.
