Archaeology — Middle Saxon; 8th century
Pottery, vessel, cooking pot
Although most pottery used around the house was made in England, merchants also brought in pottery from abroad. Potters working in northern France and the Low Countries produced large quantities for export. This vessel is a white ware cooking pot and was made in northern France. It dates from the 700s.
