Tankard
A conical tankard of pint capacity with a thickened everted rim and decorative fillets around the base. The hollow-cast swept handle has escutcheon and flush attachments. There is a faint inscription ‘Thomas Hopson’ below the rim and the initials ‘W’ and ‘M’ are repeated once on the body and twice underneath the base. There is a WIV verification mark below the rim to the left of the handle. No other marks. Date: c.1820 -40.
