Doorway, College Hill
A doorway, College Hill, King's Head Inn yard, Southwark, 1884. This photograph was commissioned by the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London to form part of a permanent visual record of historic buildings threatened with alteration or possible demolition in the 1870s and 1880s. This 17th century doorway may have been designed by Sir Christopher Wren who rebuilt London after the Great Fire of 1666.
