No. 73, Cheapside
No. 73, Cheapside, 1883. This photograph was commissioned by the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London to form part of a permanent visual record of historic buildings threatened with alteration or possible demolition in the 1870s and 1880s. This house was built in 1668-1669 to the designs of Sir Christopher Wren and was occupied by the then Mayor of London, Sir William Turner. It was demolished in 1929
