The Maypole ?
Phillip Complin, a distiller, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Maypole, in the Strand.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2963; Obv inscription: PHILLIP.COMPLIN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = AT THE / 16 66 A maypole and a building in two lines of Roman capitals either side of sign, in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.STRAND.DISTILLER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
