The Rose and Crown
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Rose and Crown, in Shoreditch, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2827; Obv inscription: THE.ROSE.AND.CROWNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose and crown (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SHOREDICH.1652 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = S.P (in field, in Roman capitals).
