The Fleece Tavern
John Robottom issued this trade token, worth a half penny, at the Golden Fleece tavern, in St Martin's Lane, Westminster.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2676; Obv inscription: IOHN. ROBOTTOM. AT. YE. FLEESE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A fleece (in field); Rev inscription: TAVERN.IN.ST.MARTINS.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / 1667 (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
