The Three Lions
Philip Wetherell issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in the parish of St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2512; Obv inscription: PHILIP.WETHERELL.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = 3 lions passant impaled (in field); Rev inscription: S.GILES.IN.FIELDES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = P.I.W. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
