The Pineapple
Thomas Bordway issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the end of Fountain Lane, in the parish of St Giles in the Fields, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2486; Obv inscription: THO.BRODWAY.OF.ST.GILES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A hand holding a pineapple (in field); Rev inscription: AT.FOVNTAN.LAN.END (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.A.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
St Giles in the Fields was a parish in Holborn, Middlesex; it now lies in the London Borough of Camden.
