Post-Medieval — Stuart; possibly 17th century
Holder
A strange pewter object, originally classified as 'pewter toy armchair', possibly some form of fitting, stand or cover? A small turned base (pierced in the centre) with attached upper work, partly cut away, all in turn cut to form a 'network' matrix, function unknown. Quite crudely made and distorted. A similar object was recovered from the Thames foreshore in 2009 (private collection). This 'stand' has a figurative cast roundel on the base.
