This bronze axehead was found in the Thames at Weybridge, Surrey, but was probably manufactured in Ireland. It has a line of punched holes along the top and the lower part is decorated with a series of parallel ridges with punched holes. The style of the axe and the composition of the metal suggests that it is Irish. During the Bronze Age copper mines in Ireland and Wales provided much of the metal for weapons and tools.
