Coin, radiate
A copper alloy radiate of Emperor Victorinus, ruler of the Romano-Gallic Empire, AD 269-271. The back of the coin depicts Salus, the female personification of health. This coin was minted in the Gallic Empire, unidentified mint I, AD 269-271.
Obv: Cuirassed and radiate bust of Victorinus, facing right. Obv inscription: ...[VICTOR]INVS P F AVG. Rev: Salus, standing left, holding a long sceptre in her left hand and feeding a serpent rising from an altar to the left from a patera (dish) held in her right hand. Rev inscription: [SAL]V[S AVG].
