Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of the House of Constantine, the ruling dynasty of the Roman Empire, AD 306-364. The back of the coin depicts Victoria, the Roman goddess of victory. This coin was possibly minted in AD 330-340.
Obv: Cuirassed and helmeted bust of Constantinopolis, facing left. Obv inscription: [CONSTANT]INO[POLIS]. Rev: Victory, standing left on the prow of a ship, holding a sceptre in her right hand and a resting her left hand on a shield. Rev inscription: Illegible.
