Bowl, handled bowl
Open hemispherical bowl, trulleum, the edge of the rim rolled out, rounded base; flat strap handle which terminates in a bi-concave grip, now very corroded. The bowl is incomplete, and has been heavily restored.
The type of hemispherical vessel seen here, described by den Boersted (1956, 19 no. 53, pl III) as a dipper, was found at Nijmegen in a set with a strainer, as part of a wine service.
