Strap mount, cavalry harness mount
A copper alloy strap mount with central expansion for dome-headed rivet, which does not survive. Two shanks for attachment survive on the rear face at either end. The object still displays evidence for tinning and traces of niello survive in the decoration that spreads along the length of the mount.
