Coin, as
A copper alloy as of Emperor Hadrian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 117-138. The back of the coin depicts Britannia, the female personification of Britain. This coin was minted in Rome, Italy, AD 119.
Obv: Laureate bust of Hadrian, facing right, left shoulder draped. Obv inscription: IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG. Rev: Britannia, seated left, with her right foot set on a rock, resting her head on her right hand and holding a near vertical sceptre in the left hand, with a large shield situated behind her chair. Rev inscription: PONT MAX TR POT COS III, SC in field, BRITANNIA in exergue.
