Coin, nummus AE4
A copper alloy nummus of the House of Constantine, the ruling dynasty of the Roman Empire, AD 306-364. The back of the coin depicts the she-wolf suckling the twins Romulus and Remus. This coin was possibly minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), c. AD 330-340.
Obv: Cuirassed and helmeted bust of Roma, facing left. Obv inscription: [VRBS] ROM[A]. Rev: She-wolf, standing left, suckling Romulus and Remus, two stars above. Rev inscription: Unclear mint mark.
