Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; late 14th-15th century
Shoe
An adult size left foot shoe with a one-piece sole and a pointed toe. The upper is largely in two pieces: the vamp (part of which is missing) and the one-piece quarters. The impression of the reinforcement cord survives in the quarters near the straps. The heel is cut quite high at the back. Note: From a 15th-century silt deposit.
