Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; 14th-15th century
Unidentified saint or Bishop
Part of a crude pilgrim badge depicting a bishop underneath a canopy. He carries a cross-staff in his left hand and his right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing. Several saints were depicted as bishops on the pilgrim souvenirs from their shrines. It is not certain which saint is represented here.
