Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; late 15th century
Unidentified badge
Part of a flat, circular badge with a cabled border and faint embossed decoration. This badge may be a pilgrim badge but if so, the shrine it came from is currently unknown. Pilgrims who travelled to religious shrines frequently bought souvenirs of their pious journey such as ampullae (small bottles for holy water), badges and figurines.
