Saxon & Medieval — Late Medieval; 15th century
Bowl
Copper alloy bowl, which would have been used for eating foods like potage. Potage was a staple food in the medieval and Tudor periods. It was a pulpy 'spoonmeat' or vegetable-based stew thickened with pulses and sometimes scraps of meat. People were expected to bring their own spoon and knife when they dined with friends.
