Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Constantine I, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 306-337. The back of the coin depicts Sol, the Roman sun god. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 310-311.
Obv: Cuirassed and laureate bust of Constantine I, facing right. Obv inscription: CONSTANTINVS AVG. Rev: Sol, standing left, raising his right hand and holding a globe in the left. Rev inscription: SOLI INVICTO, XT... in exergue.
