Walter Norwood issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Roehampton, Surrey.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Surrey number 239; Obv inscription: WALTER.NORWOOD (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose, crowned (in field); Rev inscription: AT.ROWE.HAMTON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.M.N. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Roehampton was formerly part of surrey, it now forms the western boundary of the London Borough of Wandsworth.
