The Rose and Crown
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued by the town of Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Suffolk number 224; Obv inscription: VILLA.LOWISTOFF.SVFFOLK (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose and crown on a shield (in field); Rev inscription: A / LOWESTOF / FARTHING (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
