Old Houses about to be demolished for the New Courts of Law
Four views (cut in two pairs) of picturesque and decrepit slums: Newcastle-court (signs say: 'Model lodging house - no. 16'); Old Boswell-court; Middle Serle's-place; Ship-yard and entrance to Chair-court. The law courts were opened in 1871 but funds for the scheme were found in 1865.
