The Rose
William Baylie issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Woolstable, in Westminster.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3537; Obv inscription: WILLIAM. BAYLIE. AT. YE. WOOLL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose on a stalk and two flanking flowers (in field); Rev inscription: STABLE. IN. WESTMINSTER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / W.A.B. (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
