Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3262; Obv inscription: MARTHA.CHAPMAN.NERE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = M.C (in field, in Roman capitals); Rev inscription: TVRN.STIL.IN.HOLBORNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = M.C (in field, in Roman capitals).
Turnstile (later Great Turnstile), lay between High Holborn and Little Queen Street (now part of the Kingsway), in Holborn, Middlesex; the area is now part of the London Borough of Camden.
