The Greyhound
William Wadley issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Greyhound, in Tothill Street, Westminster.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3174; Obv inscription: WILL.WADLY.AT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A greyhound (in field); Rev inscription: IN.TVTTLE.STRET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.A.W. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Tothill Street lay in Westminster, Middlesex; it now lies in the City of Westminster, lying on the eastern end of Petty France.
