The Black Lion
John Harrison issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Black Lion, in Tothill Street, Westminster.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3165; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BLACK.LYON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: IN.TVTELL.STREETE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = IOHN / HARI / SON (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
