The White Hart
Hugh Hall issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the White Hart, in Temple Bar without, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3046; Obv inscription: HVGH.HALL.AT.YWHITHART (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A hart lodged, H.E.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals around sign, in field); Rev inscription: WITHOVT.TEMPLE.BAR.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENNY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
