The Sun
George Crafts issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Sun, in the Strand, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2965; Obv inscription: GEORGE. CRAFTES. AT. THE. SVN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The sun (in field); Rev inscription: IN.YE.STRAND.HIS.HALF.PENY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = G.A.C. / 1666 (triad of initial is in Roman capitals with date below, in field).
The Strand lies in the City of Westminster, having formerly been part of Westminster, Middlesex.
