The White Lion
John Wilkinson issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the White Lion, in Southampton Buildings, Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2928; Obv inscription: IOHN.WILKINSON.WHIT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SOVTHAMTON.BILDING (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.E.W. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field). [Boyne has SOVTHAMPTON.BILDENG].
