The Crown
Thomas Kencie issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at Southampton Buildings, in Holborn, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2925; Obv inscription: THO.KENCIE.IN.SOVTH (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: HAMPTON.BVILDINGS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A crown (in field).
