The Unicorn
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Unicorn, against the Savoy.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2742; Obv inscription: AT.THE.VINCORNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A unicorn (in field); Rev inscription: AGAINST.THE.SAVEY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.M.D. and a branched flower (triad of initials in Roman capitals around sign, in field).
