The Wiltshire Shepherd
This trade token, worth a half penny, was issued for a business at the sign of the Wiltshire Shepherd, in St Martin's Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2683; Obv inscription: THE.WILSHIRE.SHEPARD (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A shepherd and a dog (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ST.MARTINS.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HER / HALFE / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
