The Flower Pot
Edward Persmore issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in St James' Market (now Waterloo Place and environs), Westminster, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2543; Obv inscription: EDWARD.PERSMORE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A vase of flowers (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ST.IAMES.MARKET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = E.E.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
St James' Market, lay on St James' Fields, in Westminster, Middlesex; the area now forms Waterloo Place and its environs, to the north east of Pall Mall, in the City of Westminster.
