The Rose
Nicholas Keeve issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in the Market Place, Westminster, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2538; Obv inscription: NICHOLAS. KEEVE. IN. YE. MARKET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose (in field); Rev inscription: PLACE.IN.WESTMINSTER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / 1668 (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
