The Fruiterers' Arms
John Ashton issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Russell Street, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2430; Obv inscription: IOHN.ASHTON.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The Fruiterers' arms (in field); Rev inscription: IN.RVSSELL.STREETE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.L.A. / HIS ½ (in two lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as top, in field).
