The Whitehall
Nicholas Sherman issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the White Hall, in Petty France, Westminster, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2226; Obv inscription: NICHOLAS.SHERMAN.WHIT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A building with high roof and gateway (in field); Rev inscription: HALL.IN.PETTI.FRANCE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = N.M.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
